CRISIS INTERVENTION
As soon as possible after a person enters our Nights of Safety program, a staff member or trained advocate will meet with the client and do a full intake, go over Victim's Compensation paperwork, find out what clothes and personal items might be needed, and help the client start setting goals for the Nights of Safety stay.

These goals might include finding a longer-term shelter, getting an Order of Protection, finding a place to live, going to the home of a friend or relative, or finding a shelter outside the St. Louis area. These goals are immediate because ALIVE provides only temporary, emergency shelter. ALIVE's Nights of Safety Coordinator or a trained advocate provides daily follow-up with Nights of Safety clients regarding their needs and goals.

Intake interviews affirm victims' strengths, provide basic education about domestic violence, information about legal rights, Crime Victims Compensation and ALIVE's services, and enables victims to choose which, if any, of our services to use.
